About Us
More Than a Magazine
Pure Collectives started in 2024 as a project to unite creatives in Vancouver by making the creative industry smaller and easily accessible.
It wasn't just about building a magazine but more about having a community who will be able to express themselves without the fear of being judged or wrongfully criticized.
It is a platform to enable newer creatives work with seasoned, ambitious and amazing people to create something meaningful.
I (Ese) announced the project to my Instagram followers in 2024 with aim to work with 50 to 75 creatives, Models, Photographers, MakeUp Artists, Designers and Content Creators. Within the first day of the announcement, roughly 35 persons seemed interested and this gave me the drive and motion to begin it.
A journey that spanned into 100 days of working with and photographing 66 creatives which was fully documented and vlogged about in my Youtube Channel. The vlogs showed the struggles we face as creatives through a behind the scenes format and how we manage to solve them despite the pressure or unforeseen circumstances.
Towards the end of the Project, we still didn't have a name. I then turned to have a poll of suggestions from my Instagram followers where Alyssia and Blaster Toyo suggested their individual names of the project but we formally decided it should be called "Pure Collectives"
As of January 2025, we were able to unveil the first edition of a Magazine which was to quantify our success rate into something we can feel and also a test phase to measure the success rate of such an idea, and to my biggest surprise, it was very decent. The interest and amount of people invested in the result proved I started something good.
A lot of anticipation began after a couple of weeks used to reflect and rediscover what next to do, when I asked my Instagram followers again, if they wanted a Second Edition. Most voted yes.
July 2025 the plan was simple, use the same initiative and plan from 2024 but bigger. In 2024 we aimed 50 to 75 creatives but 2025 we set up a minimum of working with 100 creatives and after 145 days of creating contents and working with beautiful creatives from all over British Columbia, we were able to work with 106 creatives.
This made me so happy and I realized we have motion. From featuring 66 creatives to featuring 106 creatives, from having no designer work with us to having 4 designers, from having 1 content creator to having 5 Photographers and from having no sponsor to having one sponsor in the person of Taurus Fitness Club sponsor us by allowing us create contents in their Gym.
Having looking at all these, it was rightful to theme the 2026 Edition "Growth".
Through this Growth Edition, I was able to birth another project of having the creatives of Pure Collectives celebrate in person what we have achieved and what we will achieve. Through the suggestion and perseverance of one of our partners Cate and Me Jewelry and the timeless hard work of The Jojo Eno Brand, we introduced "Walk the Page".
Walk the Page is an immersive fashion show where you live through the pages of the magazine through an exhibition, get the entertainment of a fashion runway and where we tend to launch our latest edition and issues.
Pure Collectives isn't just a magazine. It is a community, it is a statement, it is the raw unfiltered moments that shows our struggles and how we achieve them.
We are not just defined by our names, our dreams, the places we come from or by our appearances. We are defined by who we want to be and how we will get there, the struggles of being. We have a story, our story has a voice. We are the communities we build, we are the story we choose to tell.
We are Pure Collectives.
